Apes and Angels is a science fiction novel about a group of humans who travel to a distant planet to save its indigenous life from a deadly radiation wave.
I didn't read a lot of the content, but the part I did referenced someone reading Part 2 before Part 1 and not realizing it.
I think in a trilogy or continuation of any kind, it's important the author includes in the titleing to clearly show what you're preparing to read is a continuing Saga or however it's referred (Series, Trilogy, etc.). The reader should not have to take the time to research or figure it out, because frankly, it's frustrating and moreso if you've read well into chapters only to realize there's more to the story in a previous book.
I completely agree! In this particular instance, the series is a subset of a larger, ongoing series. I had to do a bit of research on n Goodreads to see the recommended order of reading. Now, while there is definitely an overarching story line, each book also stood on its own.
